Firm, youthful skin without surgery or injections – many patients would like an non-invasive alternative to the traditional facelift or Botox treatment. In addition to minimally invasive injection wrinkle treatments, the Hautmedizin Bad Soden offers the innovative Ultherapy®.
What areas of the body are suitable for Ultherapy®?
Ultherapy is gentle on the skin and works with ultrasonic waves that penetrate the tissue from the outside without damaging the skin. It can be used effectively and safety to firm the face, neck and décolleté as well as the arms, legs and stomach for every skin type.
What happens during Ultherapy®?
There are no specific preparations required for this method. However, patients should arrive at the clinic on treatment day without make-up. The skin is thoroughly cleansed once again on the treatment area before a special ultrasound gel is applied.
During Ultherapy, concentrated ultrasound impulses are emitted into the deeper layers of the skin and in the soft tissue underneath, without damaging the upper parts of the skin. The microfocused energy of the ultrasound generates quick, precisely controlled heat in these layers, which stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin. The skin naturally becomes firmer and connective tissue is tighter.
The procedure takes 30 minutes to one hour and can be very well tolerated by taking pain-relieving medication before beginning treatment.
What do I need to do after treatment?
Since there is no severe damage to the skin, there is generally no downtime. Cooling the treated area helps to reduce any redness.
What are the risks and side effects?
Compared to a surgical facelift, Ultherapy is an extremely gentle and low-risk procedure when performed correctly. In some cases, slight pressure pain or swelling may occur temporarily, and a feeling of numbness or bruising in rare cases.
How long does the effect of the treatment last?
Production of new collagen by the body takes some time, which is why there is no visible result straight after the treatment. After 4-5 months, the skin appears considerably firmer and can improve even more in the following months. How long the Ultherapy effect lasts depends on the skin type and personal circumstances. If the skin is frequently exposed to direct sunlight, this can shorten the effect. Patients can usually expect the effect to last for 2-4 years.
